From the Superintendent’s desk:
I would like
to inform you of a patron complaint today regarding our renovation. The Boone County building inspector and fire marshal
visited the school to ensure a safe environment for staff and students. The specific concerns given by the complainant
were: water in the classrooms and hallway and the cafeteria was not safe for
students and staff. Generally the
complaint was that the school was not safe for the students and staff. Earlier this week we did have water in a
second grade and special education classroom after the rain from the roof work
and it was quickly attended to and the second grade students were moved to
another classroom. These classrooms are
dry now due to the roofing being over them.
Following the walk-through of the Boone County inspectors, they had no
concerns for the students or staff of the school. I would like to share with you that the
roofers are pumping water off the roof after every rain but cannot fix all the
leaks in the rubber roof due to its age and condition. We may experience other leaks in the old
rubber roof as a result of installing a new metal roof in the future. I can assure you that if these leaks occur,
they will get cleaned up quickly to ensure safety for students and staff. Thank you for your time.
