HOMEWORK POLICY:
ASSIGNMENT BOOKS:
Every student is required to fill out their assignment book EVERY day.  They will list assignments, upcoming tests, and/or long term projects.  At the end of the day, the teacher will call for the assignment books.  An "X" will be placed on assignments that were completed at school, and those assignments that need to go home as homework will be circled.  A notation of the students behavior for the day will also listed.  (See HERE for more information concerning discipline policies.)  Parents are asked to initial their child's assignment book EVERY evening to show they are aware of what work needs to be done at home, as well as the behavior their child showed for the day.

LATE WORK:
All work will be due the following day by 8:00 a.m., unless the teacher has announced otherwise.
Any work not turned in by that time will be considered LATE.   Students with late work will need to stay in during recess to complete the unfinished work, and/or owe laps at recess as part of their consequence.
All missing assignments will be due by the end of THAT DAY in order to receive credit.
If a student fails to turn in the assignment by 3:00 p.m., then the assignment will be
recorded as a ZERO in the gradebook.

ABSENCE:
If a student is absent, they will need to get all make-up work from the teacher the day they return.  They will also be responsible for obtaining any notes taken in the core subjects.  The students will have one day for every day they were absent to make
up the work .  For example, if a child was to be absent Monday and Tuesday, they would get the missing work Wednesday when they returned.  The work would then be due at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.

LONG TERM PROJECTS:
Students will have several research projects this year.  At the beginning of each unit involving a project, the teachers will send home a note listing the requirements for the project, a due date, and a scoring guide.  Please be sure to read these notes very carefully.    Signatures from both student and parent are required before a student may begin the project.  This allows the student, parent, and teacher to insure that the project is fully understood.
