There are
many famous people who have come from Missouri. The Governor of
Missouri has asked 4th graders from several towns to research these
famous individuals and to create a museum of
Famous Missourian statues.
It is your task to
choose a famous Missourian and
research their life. You can find your information using the Internet,
encyclopedias (electronic or standard), and other written documents.
The report must contain the following information about the famous
Missourian:
- Date of birth
and death
- Where in Missouri he/she lived
- What type of education he/she received
- What made he/she famous

Bottle buddies are 2
or 3 liter bottles, emptied and cleaned.
They are then decorated to look like your assigned famous Missourian.
They can
represent someone from the past or the present such as Harry S. Truman,
George Washington Carver, or Mark McGuire. The bottle
can be decorated with an actual
picture of the famous Missourians face attached to the top of the
bottle by the threads. You can add yarn for hair, eyebrows, and
mustache. The bottom of the bottles can be just plain, or you can add
shoes/feet.
Here
are some suggested
items you may want to use to help you:
2 or 3 liter bottles,
scissors, glue, felt, balloon or styrofoam ball for head, paint, yarn
for hair.
