March 24, 2020
Dear Sturgeon R-V School District Families and Staff:
Earlier this morning, Boone County issued a stay-at-home order beginning March 25 and running through April 24. This means that our closure as well as alternative and distance learning methods will be extended. Our hope is to return to school on Monday, April 27. We understand the order can change to be extended, rescinded, superseded, or amended at any time. We continue to monitor the situation and will keep you informed of any changes or additional information as it becomes available.
We can’t begin to thank you enough for your flexibility, understanding, and support during this unprecedented, uncertain, and difficult time. As we move forward, the district administration will continue to communicate with our patrons and students.
Below is updated information on the operations of the school district.
Prior to our original dismissal, we provided all students with packets that were intended to provide academic resources up to April 6th. We are currently planning as an administrative team different avenues and methods to enhance our instruction during this extended closure. The district has sent all families a survey via email to assess internet capabilities and capacity. We will reach out using other means to families we do not receive responses from. This survey will help us plan for remote learning opportunities so please fill out the survey.
The district is offering a seamless option which allows all children in the district (Clark and Sturgeon - in and out of town) to receive free meals. We currently ask that families email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 573-687-3515 to sign up for food pick up. If you are unable to come to Sturgeon to pick up food, please communicate that to us and we will work towards a solution.
