STURGEON R-V SUMMER SCHOOL RE-ENTRY
STURGEON R-V SUMMER SCHOOL RE-ENTRY

Dear Sturgeon R-V Families, Staff, and Students,

We are in the midst of an unprecedented time period.  COVID-19 has caused us all to pause and reassess nearly everything we do as a family, school, and community.  The administration and staff of the Sturgeon R-V School District have worked with the Boone County Health Department to create a safe summer school option for our students.

During this time of uncertainty, it is important that we understand that this plan needs to be fluid.  As we gain more information, we will adjust our procedures to ensure that our students and staff remain safe.  When these changes occur, we will communicate using the school website, app, social media, email, and all call system.

Our district has spent the months since our initial closure cleaning and staging rooms to make sure summer school re-entry is as safe as possible.  Our custodial and maintenance departments have worked diligently to create protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

At this time, neither the community of Sturgeon nor the school district is requiring the use of masks.  It is recommended for all people to use masks when social distancing is not possible.  The district will provide cloth masks for staff to use during summer school when social distancing isn't possible.  We have a limited number of masks for students.  If you want your student to wear a mask, please spend time prior to summer school practicing  mask care and appropriate mask protocols.

The support of this community during this process has been commendable.  The collaboration between our community and our school has been inspiring.  I ask that as we begin the process of returning to school, we practice kindness and extend grace and support to everyone.  We are much stronger when we work together.

If you have questions about the re-entry plan or would like to visit with an administrator about our strategies and plans, please contact Jeff Carr - Summer School Principal - jcarr@sturgeon.k12.mo.us or Geoff Neill - Superintendent - gneill@sturgeon.k12.mo.us
