The Sturgeon School District is currently in the planning stages for Summer School 2020. To reserve a spot for your child please complete the online registration form by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.  Register your child according to the grade they will enter during the 2020-2021 school year.  K-8 Summer School registration will close on June 12, 2020. To ensure that we have an appropriate number of teachers and staff please turn in the registration form by Friday, June 12th.

This summer our school district is planning to offer four weeks of in-seat summer school for grades K-8 from July 20th through August 14th, 2020.  Summer school will run Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 3:00 pm and doors will open at 7:30am.  The district is planning to offer transportation, if conditions allow.  Registration/enrollment will end on Friday, June 12th, 2020.  Breakfast and lunch will be served free of charge to all students.

Summer school will look a little different than in past years.   First, it will run for 20 days instead of the usual 24 days.  Second, students will not receive a gift card incentive for attendance.  And third, due to travel restrictions/recommendations we will not be taking any student field trips during summer school. The District has opted to focus on recapturing student learning from this Spring’s school closure during our summer school session. We still plan to have a relaxed format with a focus on reading and math using engaging methods to achieve learning (of course there will still be an opportunity to have fun).

As we plan to offer summer school during these dates, we also understand that the landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic is ever changing and unpredictable.  As the Center for Disease Control and Boone County Health Department continue to provide guidance regarding the re-opening of schools, social distancing, gathering of large groups, and precautionary measures, we will work to incorporate those into the summer school program.  Student safety is our top priority.  We will continue to provide updates as we receive information and make plans accordingly. We hope to see you at the end of July!
