23 November 2020

Dear Sturgeon R-V School District Families, Students, and Staff,

Tonight the Sturgeon R-V School District Board of Education voted to extend the current period of remote instruction for the remainder of first semester.  Students will return to in-seat instruction on Tuesday, January 5th.  This decision was made with the safety of our students and staff as the primary goal.  At this time, the number of cases in our school district is increasing at a rate that we feel makes in-seat instruction difficult to maintain.  We will continue to reach out to our students to make this period as productive as possible.  During this time, if you need additional supports, I encourage you to reach out to the district.

Our current method of instructional delivery will continue until Tuesday, December 22nd.  In addition, the district will continue to provide food service to the district.  If your student or child under the age of 18 would like school meals free of charge, please contact our food service department at foodservice@sturgeon.k12.mo.us.

There are building specific questions that our principals will be able to answer.  You will receive communications from them in the coming days.  As always, if you have questions, please reach out.

As we begin to celebrate the holiday season, I encourage everyone to continue practicing safe habits like wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing, and practicing good hand washing and respiratory hygiene.

In closing, I appreciate the community we have and the support our school district has received.  The students of the Sturgeon R-V School District are lucky to have communities like Sturgeon and Clark to rally around them during times like this.

Sincerely,

Geoff Neill

Superintendent

Sturgeon R-V School District
