Thank you for the generous donations from Sonic-Centralia and Nancy Baca to our staff for summer school. Each staff member was able to enjoy a refreshing Sonic drink as well as Nothing Bundt Cakes and the new Centralia donut shop. It was fun!
The Sturgeon R-V School is accepting bids for the following items: bread, dairy products and diesel for buses. Please submit your bid to the Superintendent’s Office at 210 West Patton Street, Sturgeon MO 65284 or call 573-687-3515 for more information. Bids are due by noon, Wednesday, July 31, 2024 and will be opened in the August board meeting.

Middle school Life Science, and Earth & Space Science students are investigating the effects of the space environment on plant growth, as part of the Tomatosphere Project. This project is coordinated by the First the Seed Foundation. We planted tomato seeds, and will collect data on their germination rates. Half of our tomato seeds spent a month on the International Space Station (!!!), and the other half remained on Earth. BUT - this is a blind experiment, so we do not know which half is the "space seeds" and which half is the control group. Once our seeds have germinated, we will send our data to the project organizers, and learn which was which. Our data will be added to ongoing scientific research about ways to support long-term human space travel.
